Jerusalem is God's heart and the delight of His eyes. Jerusalem is the Bride of Christ. Jerusalem is God's Girl. She is the revelation of God's eternal purpose and mystery hidden from eternity past and is now revealed to the people of God. It is this mystery that is not a 'he' or an 'it' but a 'she'. God Himself is perfect Male, but His eternal purpose is Female! And it is the mystical reality of this feminine presence in God's divine plan that beckons the Christian to shout "Hallelujah!". Through Christ Jesus we Christians are in the midst of God's most amazing purpose. This is the ineffable prophecy that the prophets of old barely had a glimpse thereof but is now made manifest to us, the New Covenant saints, ways that would have astounded the Old Covenant saints. It is this constant and daily epiphany of Jesus, through the Church, that  renews us in spirit and truth.  We Christians, as members of the Body and Bride of Christ (the Church), are directly linked to God's plan of the ages. We share in His eternal order right here, right now on planet earth. And by His grace and mercy we will fulfill and consummate this plan in the heavenly life to come.

The 12th chapter of The Revelation speaks of the triune aspect of this divine feminine reality. Just as God is patriarchal, perfect male and three in one (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost) so is God's spiritual feminine mystery, matriarchal, perfect female and a trinity.

Revelation 12 begins with "a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars..." This is God's Girl, she is the Mystery revealed.

1) She was the Virgin Mary. Revelation 12:2 says, "And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered... ", verse 5, "And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: And her child was caught up unto God and to his throne."

This child is no other than the Lord Jesus Christ who was birthed by the Virgin Mary. Revelation 2:27 & 19:15 verifies His rule with a rod of iron. Jesus was also taken up to God and seats at the right hand of the Father.

The Roman Catholic and other orthodox churches take one extreme view of the Virgin Mary that place her in a place of prominence that goes too far and is spiritually counterproductive.

The non-Catholic (i.e. Protestant) churches take the other extreme view and place the Virgin Mary in a place of neglect and even contempt.

In these last days the Spirit of the Lord is bringing a spiritually mature balance to the truth of the Virgin Mary that is drawing God's people to that place where God wants us before His glorious return. As it is written in Luke 1:48 "... from henceforth all generations shall call me (Mary) blessed." The Virgin Mary is blessed beyond any young maid and her glory is in the sidelines pointing and directing all men toward Jesus, "Whatever He (Jesus) says, you do." (Mary at the wedding of Cana in Galilee, St. John 2:5)

2) She was physical Jerusalem. Revelation 12:6 says, "And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there 1260 days." The specific number of days is actually allegorical and indicates Jerusalem's set time under the old covenant. During the Spirit outpouring at Pentecost the Church (spiritual Jerusalem) was born and the time of physical Jerusalem was put on hold until these end times. Once the Church got under way at Pentecost it wasn't long thereafter that the Romans destroyed Jerusalem as prophesied by Jesus Himself. A beginning and an end.

It is just in these final days that physical Jerusalem is at the forefront of the world's political and emotional scene. The conflict in the Middle East over Jerusalem continues unabated with no solution in sight. It is precisely this impasse that is setting the stage for the Antichrist and God's final purpose for mankind. The cry of the Jew is "next year in Jerusalem!", the plea of the Arab is also for Jerusalem and the rest of the world wonders "Jerusalem???, Jerusalem???". The prophecy of Zechariah 12:3 is before us "And in that day will I (the Lord) make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it."

The physical gives way to the spiritual for the natural answers to the eternal ("But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all." Gal. 4:26). -- Physical Jerusalem with her mounts and the physical layout and configuration of the Temple all have feminine qualities that point to greater spiritual truths and secrets. These "Holy of Holies secrets" must be kept hidden from the masses. Ask the Spirit of Jesus to show you personally His secret depths concerning Jerusalem. "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." Amos 3:7. --  Christians today are a prophetic people under the New Covenant of Christ's blood "for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." Rev. 19:10.  And the secrets of the Lord are for those who diligently seek His face.

3) She is, above all, the Church. Revelation 12:14, "And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent." This speaks of the current Church age or of spiritual Jerusalem. The actual period of the Church age is not exactly known, thus the allegorical "time, times and half a time". There is actually no end to the Church (...and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. St. Matthew 16:18) for compared to physical Jerusalem and the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Church is the most significant manifestation of true Jerusalem, who is also our mother, "But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. " St. Paul in Galatians 4:26. Any child knows that for there to be a father there must also be a mother. God is heavenly Father, and now we have an eternal Mother, "the pillar and ground of the truth". I Timothy 3:15. Praise the Lord.

The whole of Revelation chapter 12 clearly shows a triune aspect to this wondrous woman who is arrayed with the sun. She is God's bride, the mystery that is being revealed and is revealed in these last days (Rev.10:7 "...the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets"). Dear Christian, love the Body of Christ. Stop treating fellow believers with any kind of attitude that is not of Christ. Recall the Lord's striking Saul of Tarsus (to become Paul the apostle) down on the road to Damascus on his way to persecute the Church. Jesus said, "Saul, Saul why do you persecute me?" By hurting the Church, Saul was hurting Jesus Christ Himself! So bless and love the whole of the Church, thereby blessing and loving the Lord Jesus. We can never ever say that we love Jesus Christ and not love His entire body, the Church.

Finally, what picture is there in the natural that accurately depicts all the above revelations? What is there that typifies God's most precious secret? Is it physical Jerusalem with all of its historical and archeological significance? That's part of it, but still a far cry from God's truth. Is it an artistic depiction of the Virgin Mary or other heavenly woman that depicts the feminist side of God? Or how about a grand, ornate cathedral full of worshipping Christians? There is certainly no doubt to the glory and majesty of God's worshipping Church. Ultimately,  none of these really come close to what truly reflects God's mystical secret. There is only one thing that truly accomplishes this reflection and that is --- a virgin maid (i.e. teenaged young woman). Jeremiah the prophet knew this when he wrote, " I have likened the daughter of Zion (i.e. Jerusalem) to a comely and delicate maid." It is she and the glory she depicts and the secrets of her being that is a daily reminder to the entire world of God's eternal, mystical purpose.

God is perfect male but His eternal plan is female!

"But in the days of the voice of the 7th angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God (which is a Female mystery!) should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets." Revelation 10:7
